Eligibility Criteria for Independent Service Providers (BHS)

To maintain service quality and customer trust, all Independent Service Providers / Technicians registering on the Bidyut Home Services (BHS) platform must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Age Requirement

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 60 years (subject to fitness and service capability)

2. Work Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in the selected service category (Electrician, AC Technician, RO Technician, Appliance Repair, etc.)
• Freshers may be considered only if certified by a recognized institute or ITI

3. Skill & Technical Knowledge

• Must possess practical technical knowledge of the applied service
• Ability to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain equipment/services independently
• Knowledge of basic safety practices and standard operating procedures

4. Certification (Preferred but Not Mandatory)

• ITI / NSDC / Skill India / OEM / Any recognized technical certification is preferred
• Experienced technicians without certificates may be onboarded after skill verification

5. Tools & Equipment

• Must own or have access to basic tools and equipment required for the service category
• Tools must be in safe and working condition

6. Documentation Requirement

• Valid Aadhaar Card & PAN Card
• Active bank account for payouts
• Address proof
• Skill certificate (if available)

7. Smartphone & Digital Readiness

• Must own an Android smartphone
• Ability to use mobile apps for job updates, customer communication, and payments
• Active mobile number and internet access required

8. Background & Conduct

• Must have a clean background with no serious criminal records
• Must follow ethical work practices and professional behavior
• No alcohol or substance use during service hours

9. Independent Service Provider Status

• The service provider will work as an Independent Contractor, not as an employee of BHS
• Responsible for own taxes, insurance, tools, and compliance
• BHS acts only as a technology-enabled service marketplace

10. Service Quality & Platform Compliance

• Must maintain minimum customer ratings as defined by BHS
• Timely job completion and transparent pricing
• Strict adherence to BHS Code of Conduct, Platform Rules & Policies
